Do you ever get sent to the emergency room for the common flu?

I caught someone at work in a lie I think. I skipped cl and everything I had to do on my day off becuase I was told that a girl that I worked with was going to the emergency room for the flu. But she was operating the store by her self and even though she seemed kinda congested I was kindof upset because I thought maybe her child or parent was in the emergency room and I think she just wanted to get out of working
