I want to start a whole new world !?

If I was to build a spaceship and go off into space to build a whole new world somewhere else, what kind of provisions would I take with me? I do not know if there is any life provisions on the planet I will land on! This is for a school ignment so don't think I am jumping off onto Haleys comet or anything !
