Laptop won't charge?!?!?

My laptop won't charge anymore so I have to do this from my iPod but it's not the battery cuz it bran new like 1 week help I think it's the cable because when I plug it into the wall but don't connect it to my laptop a green light turns on but right when I connect it to my laptop it starts blinking really fast and it's badly lit
